Recently, the South Central native expanded his reach by stepping into the role of Vice President at Hallwood Media, a music company focusing primarily on A&R and management. With over a decade of A&R experience at top labels like Interscope, Rod always had a vision to build something of his own—a brand, an identity, and a hand-picked in-house team. In 2021, he launched Creative Soundz Recording on Melrose Ave to bring that vision to life. “When I opened the studio, I had to compete, bro," Pusha Rod says. "I didn’t want to just open a studio in the cut or out in the Valley. I don’t want to be a sideline team. I’m in the heart of the studio district. My competition is Paramount. My competition used to be Record Plant. I wanted to be in the big leagues—so I had to be on Melrose.” More than just a business move, the studio quickly became a creative hub, welcoming everyone from rising local talent to major West Coast names like Shoreline Mafia and Kalan.FrFr, as well as out-of-state legends like G Herbo. Thanks to Rod’s deep industry ties and trusted reputation, he’s been able to move independently and effectively. “It’s about building community," he says. "Having artists and people around each other who support each other. Everything ain’t about a check.” Pusha Rod’s move into artist development started with Tay2xs and Gudda Brvckin, which laid the groundwork for launching the label. Also featured on UNDRGRND Magazine's Issue 15 cover are Creative Soundz breakout talents, Bjrnck and Rockout Danny. Lastly we have and the label’s newest signee, Kroll—who originally joined the team as a videographer and now balances both roles. Rod teases the release of SRD — a compilation album curated by Pusha Rod, featuring Tay2xs, Gudda Brvckin, Kroll. True to the Creative Soundz mission, SRD was produced entirely in-house—writing, recording, production, content, management, and marketing all handled by the team. Aside from SRD, the Creative Soundz team have new projects coming soon from Gudda Brvckin and Tay2xs, with Bjrnck, Kroll, and Rockout Danny drops "on the way." "We’re hungry, we’re working, we’re grinding," Pusha Rod says. But as he takes on the role of CEO — and soon, father — he stays aware of how much his purpose will soon change. “I'm gonna have to move with more intent,” LA Skyywalker says. “Imma have to take care of my family, you know, take care of home base before I go handle anything music-wise. Just gonna be balancing my time and prioritizing certain things more than others — that's it.” Skyywalker is one of the more experienced artists in the UNDRGRND Universe. Noting his collabs with the likes of Lil Vada, Shy Belligerent, and Eastside K-Boy, you have a strong case for arguing Skyy is on the verge of making a true stamp in the LA hip-hop spotlight.  But even if he wasn’t expecting his first baby in September, 2025 was already an unusual one for LA Skyywalker. Typically an avid dropper, he’s only released one single so far this year, a Joey Bada$$ diss in response to the Joey x West Coast beef earlier in the summer.  “When you’re younger, you just drop miscellaneously,” Skyywalker says. “Now I feel like I’m dropping with more intent, more structure. Back then I wasn’t really tripping off building an aesthetic. But when you get older, you understand you gotta build the image, the story, the whole machine.”   As Skyywalker learned how to “build the machine,” he created GSMG (Get Some Money Gang). The company and collective have business efforts in music, fashion, and gaming/streaming — LA Skyywalker’s major strong suits. A true CEO, Skyywalker has started to build up the GSMG team and staff.  “You can’t do it alone,” he says. “I’ve got a video director, daily management, content people — everybody plays a role. You gotta build your team around people who believe in you.” Some members of Skyywalker’s go-to team include StixGod and OffAir behind the lenses. GSMG also sheds light on other local rap talent, consistently promoting Cartel Hundo, Glen$hay, and Boot.  “Anybody I cook up with is gas,” LA Skyywalker says. “Peep the network.” Evolving into a well-rounded businessman and entrepreneur has seemingly only elevated Skyywalker’s confidence as an artist. This trust in himself was on full display at the UNDRGRND ‘Alien Games’ hip-hop competition in early May of this year.  A play off the Netflix hit series Squid Game, the Alien Games took Skyywalker and nine other artists through multiple rounds of music-making challenges — a scavenger hunt, a team EP, hip-hop trivia, and a 1-on-1 versus. In the end, Skyywalker came out the champion, not only earning bragging rights but also the $1,000 cash prize. “The Games definitely had me on my toes,” Skyywalker says. “I was nervous a couple times.” Perhaps most impressive from Skyywalker during the Alien Games was his success in the Hip-Hop x UNDRGRND Trivia round. A true student of the game and active UNDRGRNDer, Skyywalker went a perfect 20/20 — the only one to answer every single question right.   “I didn’t miss one — that’s easy money,” he says. “And with UNDRGRND — I know UNDRGRND, ‘cause y’all my people.” As summer ends and the baby is due, Skyywalker shares that he’s ready to release new music again. His upcoming project, "Weezy At It Again", was produced entirely by close friends and frequent Skyywalker collaborators, Da Mystro & Reddnthabuilding. The album is set to drop in early August, with the lead single featuring Donny Solo out in late July. “The next step is taking the brand to the next level,” Skyywalker says. “In the next two to five years, we're gonna be the hottest shit. The twins’ musical journey began in a 90s household where another form of music took priority. "You grow up in a Jamaican household, reggae was a big part of our life," EZ says. "But when we went to school and everyone's American, you try to fit in a little bit. Lil Wayne, Young Thug. The rap shit. We put the reggae and the rap together, and that's how we came up with our flow." As children, their father was involved in the DJ scene and artist showcases in Atlanta. The twins recall joining their dad at DJ wars and even getting their first look at live music performers and vocalists. "It was mostly our dad who influenced us to do the music thing," says EZ. "We used to see the artists go up there and do their thing, and actually meet a lot of big artists." Trilla adds, "Our dad built the first studio for us and everything." At 12 years old, EZ & Trilla dove in for themselves. The two explain making beats on Reason before later transitioning to FL Studios 3. "Once we learned to record our vocals on FL, it was over after that," Trilla says. As they honed their craft as vocalists, the twins ultimately outsourced engineering and production to Atlanta-based producer, ‘BrandABeast.’ The three have worked together for a majority of EZ & Trilla’s careers. "He's the best engineer in Atlanta, man," EZ says of BrandABeast. "And his beats are dope as fuck. You can pull up on him at his studio — he doesn't have a bunch of crazy rules. He makes you feel at home. Clouds on the ceiling all that." With over 15 years in Atlanta's music scene, EZ and Trilla have witnessed its rapid growth and evolution. They note a trend back towards "dancing, leanin’, rockin’ type music" they see amongst younger ATL generations. EZ attributes this to dance-encouraging apps like TikTok. "It's making music fun again," EZ says, "like back when we were young." Trilla proudly asserts Atlanta's unique position in the hip-hop world. "Everybody sounds different in ATL. People in other states wanna be like us, they want to have the country slang. We got that 'It Factor' down here.” Although they speak highly of Atlanta and have thrived in the scene there, they have recently found excitement in the music opportunities that Los Angeles has for them. Their connection to Los Angeles was established mostly through visiting their childhood friend and fellow rapper, ‘Sensei Kyh’, who moved to Los Angeles around 2020. The three of them all met each other in first grade back in Georgia. “Kyh always stood out,” EZ says. “He was the first person in our school to have corn rows. We had our own little dance group, and he had his own dance group. He was just a cool dude.” “Kyh and us always had the same mindset and goals.” Trilla adds, “We all Libra gang.” As the three became teenagers, the twins and Kyh went to different high schools, but stayed connected through music. Today, despite living across the country, they have multiple collabs through a decade of working together. Perhaps most popular of is a 2024 music video for their collab-track “Rock-A-Bye Baby” — which has amassed over 320k views on YouTube. The twins speak highly of the Los Angeles rap scene. "Y'all got motion out there," says EZ. "Just like how y'all think we got motion out here, y'all got motion. And the fine girls out there too. But y'alls music is way different than ours. When you go out there, it makes more sense, it matches the vibe. Unlike people from most states, y'all got your own sound — you're not trying to sound like anyone else." In May 2025, EZ and Trilla made their Los Angeles performance debut at the UNDRGRND Magazine Issue 14 Release Event. Despite it being their first show in LA, they have years of live performance experience in their home state, notably opening for Big Boogie in 2024. "We like to work the stage, get the crowd hyped," Trilla says. As they look towards the future, EZ and Trilla have big plans for 2025 and beyond. They're working on a new project set to drop by the end of summer or early fall. Their future goals reflect the ambition and passion for music they’ve had since they were 12. "I just want to be able to do what I love, with positive people who all have an actual goal," says EZ. "And make money while doing it." Trilla says, "This year I want to make a song that changes our lives."

K-Boy recalls his phone start blowing up around dinner, soon to realize that Kendrick Lamar — a longtime friend of K-Boy’s — just shouted him out on live TV during his “Not Like Us” Record of the Year acceptance speech. “My phone started ringing, and it’s been ringing consistently since then,” K-Boy says. “It’s not just about the shoutout, but it’s about what he said during the shoutout. Me being one of the people who inspired me to be who he is. That is still unbelievable to me.” K-Boy and Kendrick Lamar’s relationship goes back to early 2000s Los Angeles. Emerging out of the original West Coast wave of Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg, Dr Dre, and other legends, K-Boy was part of the new generation of LA rap. Today, K-Boy has dropped with the likes of Jay Rock, Steven G, Kendrick Lamar, Dave East, Kalan.FrFr and more. “I started off with Glasses Malone, Problem, the people Kendrick said on the stage with me,” K-Boy says. “I’ve learned from their mistakes. We watched where they grew, and where they came from.” K-Boy admits that in the past he had been inconsistent in dropping music because of time spent in and out of the system. K-Boy eventually found his consistency, at the same time maturing into a purposeful entrepreneur and community leader. Aside from working in artist relations for popular streetwear brand Shaka Wear, K-Boy joined the Los Angeles based nonprofit organization PVJOBS in late 2024. Holding a Creative Director role, K-Boy helps the group’s members learn vital skills in podcast and music production, networking, and community impact. “I like it way better than doing music,” K-Boy says. “It’s fulfilling when you feel like you helped someone else do something. PVJOBS sits right in the middle of my neighborhood. The goal is for the students to actually learn the camera, the lights, sound engineering, drone operation, how to read a contract — we’re trying to teach them everything, so that when they do leave PV they can be successful.” Perhaps most important to K-Boy is putting on for his own community, an area within Los Angeles he refers to as ‘4Pakistan’. Many in the generation below K-Boy are up and coming artists and creatives, including those sharing the cover of our Issue 15 magazine — ANDREW NEED NAMES aka ‘The 4Pak’. “We all from the same section, we all one,” says K-Boy. “I’m not the only one who makes music from my neighborhood. And I feel like if you’re in a position to help, you should help.” As a solo artist, K-Boy is only seeing bigger looks, especially since Grammy’s night. In March 2024, he performed for the second year in a row at the Rolling Loud CA music festival at the So-Fi Stadium grounds in Inglewood. He hints at more collaboration with Kendrick Lamar, and tells UNDRGRND Magazine about his and The Game’s upcoming plans for a Documentary 3 album. “Bring things to the table — that’s how you last longer. Show people you’re an asset, not a liability. If you can’t be used, you’re useless.” .

The Newport News native found early success making "educational rap" content with his brother under the name 'B The Movement'. "The rapping I was doing with my brother was family-friendly, and I think that’s what gravitated a lot of people to it," Universel Drive says. "It just kind of transcended into a whole thing. Children’s books, bookings outside of the country, and it just really became a movement. Even though I’ve transitioned into a more rap persona, I feel that laid the foundation for a lot of things.” Drive tells UNDRGRND that he ultimately began focusing on a solo hip-hop career, making the move from the East Coast to Los Angeles. In just a few years, Drive has laid a solid foundation. In 2024 alone, he dropped two big singles ("Pop My Shit" and "In Yo City"), continued to grow in the content game, and got live-performance reps in on the UNDRGRND stage. Away from the mic, Universel Drive is a high school biology teacher in Carson, CA. “As a teacher in Carson, we have a huge population of Compton kids, different demographics — and a lot of those kids are going through crazy situations," Drive says. "Being a teacher, your job is way more than just teaching kids a subject. To some of those kids, you’re mom and dad. They go home and don’t have a support structure.” Universel Drive encompasses everything we look to highlight at UNDRGRND Magazine. Not only is he grinding in his music lane, but also works a 9-5. That double-grind isn't easy, but it seems genuinely fulfilling and promising for Drive. As for his students, he shares that they totally support his personal music endeavors: “They’re my biggest supporters," he says. "Anything within a musical space, they’re showing support. Granted, there’s certain censorship that I have to put on my videos because I know they’re watching, but the best part about being an artist and a teacher isn’t about me.
