About Us

How it all began

At the core of Los Angeles’ creative heartbeat lies UNDRGRND — a raw, versatile studio space and cultural platform built for artists, creators, and rebels. More than a rental, UNDRGRND is a movement — a physical and digital space where creativity is unapologetically loud, bold, and real. It's where artists don’t wait for permission to make noise — they just do.

The roots of UNDRGRND stretch back to Newbury Park, California, where founders Andrew Mason and Michael Pofsky grew up. Though both graduated from Newbury Park High School in 2015, they didn’t connect until years later. Mason, then a journalism student with an eye on music reporting, reached out to Pofsky — a rising rapper — for an interview. That single conversation would evolve into something much bigger.

In April 2019, the two linked up again during Pofsky’s RHYTHM.I.C. tour in Boston. Mason arranged an interview on WTBU Radio, and the pair realized they could thrive working together in a real music business setting. That moment became a catalyst. Mason had spent his final college year following the journeys of Pofsky and other independent 805 rappers like Deo Cane, Belle, and KollegeKado. He saw something powerful in the local scene — stories worth telling, talent worth spotlighting.

By the end of summer 2019, Mason and Pofsky had curated a lineup of artists and launched the inaugural issue of a new publication: UNDRGRND Magazine — dedicated to lifting the voices of underground creatives from their hometown and beyond.

What started as a magazine quickly evolved into something more. UNDRGRND became a hub — a studio space in Downtown LA where creators could shoot, record, collaborate, and make something that lives beyond the scroll. It's a space with edge, designed for flexibility, grit, and experimentation. Whether you're filming your next video, capturing a shoot, or building out an installation, UNDRGRND gives you the room to create without limits.

More than just a space, UNDRGRND is a launchpad. Through our digital magazine, in-house content, social media, and curated showcases, we promote the voices pushing culture forward — from the underground up.

We’ve created a platform for collaboration, visibility, and community — led by two individuals who turned a shared passion into a purpose-driven brand.

This is UNDRGRND.
Where creators go to get loud.
Where stories get told.
Where the next wave begins.

Create Here. Be Seen Everywhere.

This isn’t just another studio — it’s your launchpad. UNDRGRND gives artists, creators, and disruptors the space to shoot, build, record, and reinvent. Whether you're grinding out visuals, crafting your next drop, or staging something bold, this is where underground work hits mainstream visibility. Don’t just create — make an impact.
